How we test

Every TechMallow review is built on hands-on testing. This page explains how we get to a score.

Hands-on, every time

We use review units as our daily drivers for as long as it takes to form a real opinion — never a few hours with a demo. Loaner units are returned or disclosed, and never tied to coverage.

Structured scoring

Each review breaks down into weighted sub-scores for the things that matter in that category — for a laptop, that's battery, display, performance, and value. Those roll up into a single 0–10 score. Because the data is structured, it also powers our Compare tool and "best X for Y" finder.

Benchmarks and real-world use

We pair standardized benchmarks (so devices are comparable) with real-world measurements: actual battery life under typical use, sustained performance, brightness, and more. We publish the numbers, not just the conclusions.

Living reviews

A score is a snapshot. When price, firmware, or the competition shifts, we re-verify and may re-score. Reviews show a Last verified date and a short history of changes, so you always know how current the verdict is.

What never changes the score
