Xbox Offers Double Microsoft Rewards Points for Birthday Week Purchases

Xbox users can receive double Microsoft Rewards points on purchases made through the Microsoft Store during their birthday week, offering a bonus for those who buy games or add-ons. This incentive is available to individuals who own an Xbox Series X/S console or use Xbox Game Pass on a gaming laptop, provided they meet specific criteria.

The bonus points are not automatically gifted but are earned through qualifying purchases. Users must have a Microsoft Account and be signed up for the Rewards with Xbox program to participate. The birthday week begins on Monday and concludes on Sunday, during which time any game, add-on, or downloadable content (DLC) purchased from the Microsoft Store will yield double the standard Microsoft Rewards points.

After making a purchase, users can check their accumulated points through the Xbox Rewards hub, which is most easily accessed via the Xbox app. While the points cannot be spent directly on new games, they can be redeemed for a variety of digital items and gift cards.

Redeeming Microsoft Rewards Points

The Xbox Rewards hub provides a selection of items for which points can be exchanged. These include gift cards for the Xbox ecosystem and digital currency for specific games. Users can also choose to donate their points to various charitable organizations.

Charities supported through the program include UNICEF and Girls Who Code. Despite the range of redemption options, the program's structure means that points cannot be applied to the direct purchase of full games. Therefore, it is generally advised against making purchases solely for the purpose of accumulating these birthday week bonus points.
